Back Body Opening Side Gutter Replacement (Power)

Warning

When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

Caution

Apply pressure only at the end of the liftgate/hood assist rod that you are removing or attaching. Do NOT apply pressure to the middle of the rod because damage or bending will result. Removal Procedure

1. Open the liftgate.

2. Using the appropriate tool, release the tabs on the back body opening side center gutter (1).

3. Release the lower actuator retainer clip  using a small flat bladed tool to retract clip slightly while removing strut end from corresponding ball stud.
4. Liftgate Power Assist Actuator (1) » Reposition

5. Back Body Opening Side Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
6. Release the 4 back body opening side gutter retainers and remove the back body opening side gutter (2). Installation Procedure

1. Back Body Opening Side Gutter (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

2. Back Body Opening Side Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

3. Liftgate Power Assist Actuator (1) » Install

4. Install the lower liftgate actuator clip.

5. Back Body Opening Side Center Gutter (1) » Install
6. Close the liftgate.
