Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Engine Controls and Fuel - 5.3L L84 or 6.2L L87 | Repair Instructions | Document ID: 5515193 Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling.

  1. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bracket Bolt (1) » Remove
  2. Remove engine wiring harness from air cleaner outlet duct bracket.

  1. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) » Disconnect — Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  2. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) » Remove [2x]
  3. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (3) » Remove

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (1) » Remove Installation Procedure

  1. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  2. Connect the electrical connector.

  3. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (3) » Install

  1. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  2. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) » Connect — Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  3. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  4. Install engine wiring harness to the air cleaner outlet duct bracket.

  5. Refill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling.
