  1. Inspect all components or sub-components and perform any repair procedure necessary to fix the damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, replace the component or sub-component as indicated.
  2. Clean all components in cleaning solvent and air dry.
  3. Inspect the transfer case rear output shaft splines (1).
  1. Inspect the transfer case oil pump and rear output shaft speed reluctor wheel engagement splines (2).
  1. Inspect the transfer case front output shaft drive sprocket bearing surface (3) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
  2. Inspect transfer case two/four wheel drive clutch hub engagement splines (4).
  1. Inspect the transfer case control actuator lever bearing surface (5) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
  2. Inspect the transfer case control actuator lever thrust bearing surface (6) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
  3. Inspect the transfer case engagement splines (7).
  1. Inspect the transfer case input shaft pilot bearing surface (8) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear. 11 Inspect oil galleries (9)
