Description |

Regulated voltage supplied by the control module. |
| Component |
Description |
| K20 Engine Control Module |
The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs. The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly. |
The control module consists of 4 internal 5 V reference circuits. The 5 V reference circuit provides
5 V for one or more sensors. All sensors will be affected when a short to ground or voltage is on a
shared 5 V reference circuit.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition and Start Signal = Greater than 6.4 V
Ignition and Start Switch Signal = On
Frequency the DTC runs = Continuously — After the running conditions are met
Conditions for Setting the DTC
Condition 1
Sensor Reference = Less than 4.88 V
Condition 2
Sensor Reference = Greater than 5.13 V
Condition 3
The following parameters are not within 0.05 V of each other:
Sensor Reference
Sensor Reference 2, 3, 4
Actions Taken When the DTC Sets

Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
Sensor Reference Circuit Status = Okay
Sensor Reference 2 Circuit Status = Okay
Sensor Reference 3 Circuit Status = Okay
Sensor Reference 4 Circuit Status = Okay
⇒ If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
⇓ If the specified state
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the
vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
⇒ If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
⇓ If the DTC is not set
- All OK.
