Sunroof Housing Replacement (Short Wheel Base)
Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
- Open the sunroof sunshade.

- Reposition the sunroof opening trim finish lace to gain access to the bolts.
- Sunroof Window Bolt (1) » Remove [6x]
- Sunroof Window (2) » Remove

- Reposition the sunroof opening trim finish lace to gain access to the bolts.
- Sunroof Window Bolt (1) » Remove [6x]
- Roof Stationary Window (2) @ Sunroof Window Seal » Disconnect
- Roof Stationary Window (2) » Remove

- Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.
- Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
- Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1).
- Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Remove
- Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side (1) » Remove

- Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.
- Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Remove [2x]
- Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]
- Windshield Garnish Molding - Right Side (3) » Remove

- Fold the assist handle downward and hold. (2)
- Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
- Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]
- Roof Rail Assist Handle (2) » Remove [2x]

- Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) » Remove
- Sunshade Bolt (2) » Remove [3x]
- Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headliner with the sunshade attached to be lowered.

- Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) » Remove
- Sunshade Bolt (2) » Remove [3x]
- Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headliner with the sunshade attached to be lowered.

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Roof Console Opening Trim Plate (1) » Remove
- Roof Console Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]
- Roof Console (3) » Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Open the sunshade support bolt access covers with an appropriate tool on both sides of vehicle.
- Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

- Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) and windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (2).
- Separate the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) from the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (2).

- Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) » Remove

- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully pry downward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) to release it from the windshield.
- Pull downward to remove the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) from the windshield.

- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs on the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1).

- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs on the cargo center courtesy lamp (1).

- Place the coat hook (2) in the open position.
- Coat Hook Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]
- Coat Hook (2) » Remove [4x]

- Move both front seats fully forward.
- Use a flat bladed plastic tool between the center pillar center trim panel (1) and the center pillar upper trim panel to disengage the upper retaining clips (2) on both sides of the vehicle.
- Pull from both sides of the center pillar center trim panel (1) to release the middle and lower retaining clips (2) on both sides of the vehicle.
- Center Pillar Center Trim Panel (1) » Remove [2x]

- Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove [2x]
- Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2)» Remove [2x]
- Pull the center pillar upper trim panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retaining clips on both sides of the vehicle.
- Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) » Reposition [2x]

- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove
- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) » Remove

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

- Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
- Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Remove

- Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove
- Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) » Remove

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

- Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
- Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Remove

- Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove

- Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

- Disconnect the rear seat belt mini-latch (1).

- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Rear Seat Center Belt Opening Bezel - 3rd Row Seat (1) » Remove
- Feed the 3rd row seat center belt through the rear seat center belt opening bezel (1).

- 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Open
- Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]

- 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) » Reposition
- Using a suitable trim tool, gently pry and pull downwards on the rear seat belt opening bezel (2) to release the retaining clip on both sides of the vehicle.
- Rear Seat Belt Opening Bezel (2) » Remove [2x]

- Reposition the sunroof housing front drain hose.
- Retaining Clip (1) » Remove [2x]
- Place all the rear seats in the fully stowed position.
- Place the front seats in the fully reclined position.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors at the windshield module.
- Lower the headlining trim panel.

- Disconnect the sunroof housing front drain hoses (1) from the front sunroof housing drain gutters.

- Disconnect the sunroof housing rear drain hoses (1) from the rear sunroof housing drain gutters.

- Remove the 2 sunroof housing wiring harness retaining tabs (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Remove the 13 sunroof module bolts (1), leaving the side 2 centermost sunroof module bolts (2) installed.

- With the aid of an assistant, remove the 2 remaining sunroof module bolts (1) and gently lower the sunroof housing (2).
- With the aid of an assistant, carefully remove the sunroof housing (2) and place on a clean prepared surface.

- Using a suitable tool, remove the sunroof air deflector springs (1) from the sunroof air deflector (2) and the sunroof channel side guides (3).

- Release the retainers at the sunroof air deflector (1).

- Pivot the sunroof air deflector (1) toward the rear end of the vehicle.
- Sunroof Air Deflector (1) » Remove

- Starting at one end of the sunroof window seal (1), pull up and away from the frame.
- Sunroof Window Seal (1) » Remove
- Clean the mounting area using a lint-free cloth dampened with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.
- Sunroof Wiring Harness (3) » Remove

- Pull rearward to unlock the sunroof sunshade stiffener (1) from the sunroof sunshade side guides (2) at both side of the sunroof sunshade.
- Using a rolling motion, remove the sunroof sunshade stiffener (1) from the sunroof sunshade side guides (2) at both side of the sunroof sunshade.

- Feed the sunshade fabric (1) rearward from the fabric guide (2).

- Using a suitable plastic trim tool, remove the sunshade spacer (1).

- Push the sunroof sunshade (1) toward the drivers side of the vehicle pull the passenger end of the sunroof sunshade forward to release and remove.
- Insert a locking pin to hold the spring tension of the sunroof sunshade (1).

- Sunroof Sunshade Motor (2) » Remove

Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

Sunroof Control Module (2) » Install
-
If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps: 4.1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth. 4.2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. 4.3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air. 4.4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

Sunroof Actuator Motor Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Sunroof Sunshade Fabric Guide (1) » Install [2x]
-
Sunshade Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

-
Remove the locking pin from the sunroof sunshade.
-
Align the driver side end of the sunroof sunshade (1) with the slot on the sunroof frame and insert the end of the shaft into the slot.
-
Push the sunroof sunshade (1) toward the driver side of the vehicle, maintain pressure while swinging the sunroof sunshade into position aligning the pin with the pivot hole and install the sunroof sunshade.
-
Install the sunshade spacer (1).
- Feed the sunshade fabric (1) forward into the fabric guide (2).

- Using a rolling motion, install the sunroof sunshade stiffener (1) from the sunroof sunshade side guides (2) at both side of the sunroof sunshade.
- Push forward to lock the sunroof sunshade stiffener (1) into the sunroof sunshade side guides (2) at both side of the sunroof sunshade.

Sunroof Wiring Harness (3) » Install

Secure the 5 sunroof wiring harness retaining clips (2).
-
Secure the sunroof wiring harness retaining tab (1).
-
Connect the electrical connectors.
-
Sunroof Window Seal (1) » Install
-
Starting at one end of the sunroof window seal (1), seat the sunroof window seal at all contact points around the frame.
-
Sunroof Air Deflector (1) » Install
-
Pivot the sunroof air deflector (1) toward the front end of the vehicle and hold in place.
-
Secure the retainers at the sunroof air deflector (1).
-
Install the sunroof air deflector springs (1) to the sunroof channel side guides (3) and the sunroof air deflector (2).
-
With the aid of an assistant, carefully install the sunroof housing (2).
-
With the aid of an assistant, install and hand tighten the side 2 centermost sunroof module bolts (1).
-
Sunroof Module Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [13x] — Fastener Specifications
-
Sunroof Module Bolt (2) » Tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications
-
Connect the electrical connectors.
-
Install the 2 sunroof housing wiring harness retaining tabs (1).
-
Connect the sunroof housing rear drain hoses (1) to the rear sunroof housing drain gutters.
-
Connect the sunroof housing front drain hoses (1) to the front sunroof housing drain gutters.
-
Headlining Trim Panel » Install
-
Connect the electrical connectors at the windshield module.
-
Place the front seats in the fully upright position.
-
Place all the rear seats in the fully upright and locked position.
-
Retaining Clip (1) » Install [2x]
-
Reposition the sunroof housing front drain hose.
-
Rear Seat Belt Opening Bezel (2) » Install [2x]
-
3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) » Install [2x]
-
Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications
-
3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Close
-
Feed the 3rd row seat center belt through the rear seat center belt opening bezel (1).

Rear Seat Center Belt Opening Bezel - 3rd Row Seat (1) » Install
-
Connect the rear seat belt mini-latch (1).

Install the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) ensuring the retaining tabs are fully seated.

-
Apply pressure upward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover insert (1) to engage the retaining tabs.
-
Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications
-
Close the sunshade support bolt access covers.
-
Connect the electrical connectors.
