Air Conditioning Receiver and Dehydrator Replacement (L84/L87) Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

  1. Hood Latch Actuator Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
  2. Hood Secondary Latch Release Handle (2) » Remove

  1. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) » Remove [9x]
  2. Intake Air Splash Shield (2) » Remove

  1. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Bolt (1) @ Upper Tie Bar » Remove [4x]
  2. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace (2) @ Upper Tie Bar » Remove [2x]

  1. Release the 6 integral retaining features (1).
  2. Radiator Air Upper Baffle (2) » Remove

  1. Reposition the side air baffle as necessary to gain access to the air conditioning receiver and dehydrator plug (1).

  2. Air Conditioning Receiver and Dehydrator Plug (1) » Remove

  3. Air Conditioning Receiver and Dehydrator (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

  4. Air Conditioning Receiver and Dehydrator (2) » Install

  1. Air Conditioning Receiver and Dehydrator Plug (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  2. Return the side air baffle as necessary to it’s original position.

  3. Radiator Air Upper Baffle (2) » Install

  4. Engage the 6 integral retaining features (1).

  5. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace (2) @ Upper Tie Bar » Install [2x]

  1. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Bolt (1) @ Upper Tie Bar » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

  2. Intake Air Splash Shield (2) » Install

  3. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) » Install [9x]

  4. Hood Secondary Latch Release Handle (2) » Install

  5. Hood Latch Actuator Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  6. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

  7. Inspect for refrigerant leaks.
