This diagnostic also checks if the control module is not programmed, or is programmed incorrectly. Conditions for Running the DTC DTC P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606, P062F, P16F3, P16FB = Not set Battery Voltage = Greater than 11 V Ignition and Start Signal = 9 to 32 V Ignition and Start Switch Signal = On Frequency the DTC runs = Continuously — After the running conditions are met Conditions for Setting the DTC Control Module = Internal Malfunction or Not Programmed Actions Taken When the DTC Sets DTCs listed in the DTC Descriptor category = Type A DTC Autostart/Autostop = Disabled — If equipped Default shift pattern = Disabled Grade braking = Disabled High Side Driver 1, 2 = Off Manual Shift Control = Disabled Neutral Idle Mode = Disabled Powertrain braking = Disabled Tap Up & Tap Down = Disabled TCC Control = Disabled Torque Management = Disabled Transmission Adaptive Pressure Control = Freeze current adapt values { P16FB } Transmission gear allowed = Reverse or Gear 7 Conditions for Clearing the DTC DTCs listed in the DTC Descriptor category = Type A DTC Reference Information Schematic Reference Automatic Transmission Controls Schematics Connector End View Reference Master Electrical Component List Electrical Information Reference Circuit Testing Connector Repairs Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections Wiring Repairs DTC Type Reference Powertrain Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Type Definitions Scan Tool Reference Control Module References Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC P0602 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Perform all necessary programming and setup procedures for the control module: K71  Transmission Control Module 2.2. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets » Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module ⇓ If the DTC does not set 2.3. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  3. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector: K71 Transmission Control Module
  5. Verify a condition does not exist with the component: K71 Transmission Control Module @ Wiring Harness Connector — Defective / Loose / Poor Connection / Visible Damage ⇒ If a condition exists Repair or replace as necessary ⇓ If no condition exists
  6. Connect the electrical connector: K71 Transmission Control Module
  7. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  8. Clear the DTCs.
  9. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off
  10. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  11. Verify DTC P0601, P0603, P0604, P0606, P0607, P062F, P16F3, P16FB is not set. ⇒ If any DTC is set Replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module ⇓ If none of the DTCs are set
