Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
4. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Remove

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
6. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Remove

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Remove
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

28. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

3. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

4. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

5. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

6. Connect the electrical connector.

7. Connect the electrical connector.

8. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

9. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

10. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

11. Connect the electrical connectors.

12. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

13. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

14. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

15. Connect the electrical connector.

16. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

17. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

19. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

20. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

21. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

22. Connect the electrical connector.

23. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

24. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

25. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

26. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

27. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

28. Connect the electrical connector.

29. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

30. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

31. Connect the electrical connector.

32. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

33. Connect the electrical connector.

34. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

35. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

36. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

37. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

38. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

40. Connect the electrical connectors.

41. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

42. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

43. Connect the electrical connectors.

44. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

45. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

46. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

47. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

48. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Install

49. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
