5. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Seal (4) » Remove and DISCARD

6. Disconnect the automatic transmission auxiliary fluid pump electrical connector (1).
7. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Bolt (2) » Remove [3x]
8. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump (3) » Remove

Note

The control valve solenoid body bolts are marked by arrows in the valve body casting.

9. Disconnect the park inhibitor solenoid electrical connector (1).
10. Unlock the main control wiring harness connector latch (2).
11. Disconnect the transmission wiring harness (3).

13. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (5) » Remove and DISCARD [3x]
14. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (6) » Remove [2x]

15. Park Inhibitor Solenoid (1) » Remove

Note

Do not disassemble the control valve body assembly. The internal parts are NOT serviceable.

17. Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Seal (1) » Remove and DISCARD Installation Procedure

18. Note the part unique number (PUN) before installing the valve solenoid body. Control Valve Solenoid Body Identification Information

19. Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Seal (1) » Install NEW

Caution

The Park Pawl Actuator Lever must be in the park position, fully forward position, and aligned with the slot in the piston servo prior to lowering the Control Valve Assembly into place. Contact between the switch housing or magnet carrier and the end of the Park Pawl Actuator Lever during installation can damage these components and lead to failure. This damage may not be immediately apparent and may occur during subsequent vehicle operation.

Note

Ensure the automatic transmission fluid pump seal is in the control valve body.

Note

The piston servo (2) opening must be positioned correctly as shown. Use appropriate tool to position opening if necessary.

3. Place the park pawl actuator (1) in the park position.
4. Carefully place the control valve body assembly (3) in the transmission ensuring park pawl actuator lever (1) aligns inside the piston servo opening (2).

Note

Ensure the wiring harness is not pinched after valve body installation.

6. Connect the main control wiring harness connector (4) then lock the connector latch (5).
7. Park Inhibitor Solenoid (6) » Install
8. Connect the park inhibitor solenoid connector (7).

Note

Allow bolt holes to dry before installing bolts.

9. Clean the bolt holes and ensure they are free from old sealant.
10. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (1) » Install and hand tighten [2x]
11. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (2) » Install NEW and hand tighten [3x]
12. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (3) » Install and hand tighten [2x]

The bolts are marked by arrows in the valve body casting.

13. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (1, 2, 3) » Tighten in sequence [7x] — Fastener Specifications

14. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump (3) » Install

15. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

16. Connect the automatic transmission auxiliary fluid pump electrical connector (1).

18. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe Seal (2) » Install NEW

19. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe (3) » Install

20. Control Valve Upper Body Bolt (4) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

21. Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (2) » Install — Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
