Hood Hinge Replacement

Caution

Apply pressure only at the end of the liftgate/hood assist rod that you are removing or attaching. Do NOT apply pressure to the middle of the rod because damage or bending will result. Removal Procedure

Hood Hinge Replacement — figure 1

1. Hood Hinge Nut (1) » Remove [4x]
2. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood (2).

3. Remove the 2 metal clips (1) at the ends of the hood strut (2).
4. Hood Strut (2) » Remove

5. Hood Hinge Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

6. Hood Hinge (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

7. Hood Hinge (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

2. Hood Hinge Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Note

Ensure the clip is fully seated when the rod is reinstalled. If the clip cannot be fully seated, a new rod should be installed.

3. Hood Strut (2) » Install

4. Install the 2 metal clips (1)  to each end of the hood strut (2).

5. With the aid of an assistant, install the hood (2).

6. Hood Hinge Nut (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

7. Adjust if necessary. Hood Adjustment
