Rear Seat Cushion Heater Replacement (40 Percent, Bucket)

Caution

General Motors does not support the application of any additional adhesive to reinstall seat components. Use only the pre-applied adhesive to install the seat components. Use of additional adhesives may damage seat components, cause safety concerns, or performance issues. Removal Procedure

1. Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad (1) Remove — Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Removal and Installation

2. Release the clips retaining the rear seat cushion cover (1) to the rear seat cushion pad (2).
3. Remove the rear seat cushion cover (1) from the rear seat cushion pad (2).

Caution

Use care when applying heat to the foam pad. Applying excessive heat in a single location may damage the foam pad, requiring replacement of the foam pad.

4. Using a heat gun, apply low heat in a sweeping motion to soften the adhesive prior to removal.

Caution

Use care when removing the heater mat and/or vent fan mat. If damage to the foam pad occurs during removal, the pad must be replaced. Damage may include, but is not limited to, rips or tears, damage due to excessive heat, or excessive residual adhesive buildup.

5. Remove the rear seat cushion heater (1) from the rear seat cushion pad (2). Installation Procedure

Caution

Ensure the seat heater is not folded or creased during installation as damage to the internal circuitry may occur, causing performance issues and damage to seat components.

1. Install the rear seat cushion heater (1) on to the rear seat cushion pad (2).

2. Install the rear seat cushion cover (1) to the rear seat cushion pad (2).

3. Secure the clips retaining the rear seat cushion cover (1) to the rear seat cushion pad (2).
