Front Side Door Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning.

Warning

Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

Warning

When installing the water deflector, ensure that the water deflector is securely fastened to the door inner before installing the door trim. An improper seal of the water deflector against the door inner may affect the ability of the front door pressure sensor to detect a side collision. This may result in improper airbag deployment and could cause bodily injury.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

3. Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
4. Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket (2) » Remove

5. Route front side door inside handle cable through hole in deflector (1).
6. Front Side Door Water Deflector (1) » Remove

7. Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers.
8. Front Side Door Window Garnish Molding Retainer (1) » Remove
9. Pull outward starting at the front and moving slowly rearward to remove the window garnish molding (2).

11. Lift the front side door inner window sealing strip (1) off the pinch-weld flange.

13. Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
14. Using the appropriate tool, start at the rear and work forward, lift the front side door window belt reveal molding (2) up to remove it from the door flange.

16. Place the front side door window in the full up position and tape in place.
17. Front Side Door Window Regulator Sash Retainer (1) » Release [2x]
18. Place the front side door window regulator in the full down position.

19. Front Side Door Window Channel Front Retainer Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

Note

Use care when removing the front side door window (1) not to scrape the glass against exposed metal edges inside the front side door frame.

21. Remove the masking tape holding the front side door window (1) and lower the window downward into the door frame while pulling up on the rear to remove the window from the door frame. Installation Procedure

22. Place the front side door window (1) into the door frame.

23. Place the front side door window (1) in the full up position and tape in place.

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

4. Front Side Door Window Channel Front Retainer Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

5. Place the window regulator sash retainer (1) in the full up position.

6. Remove the tape holding the front side door window in the full up position.

7. Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding (2) » Install

8. Starting from the front and working to the back, press firmly to install the front side door window belt reveal molding (2) onto the door flange.

9. Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

10. Front Side Door Inner Window Sealing Strip (1) » Install

11. Press firmly to install the front side door window inner sealing strip (1) back onto the door flange.

12. Ensure that the door weatherstrip is not trapped below the window garnish molding (2) once completely installed. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

14. Front Side Door Window Garnish Molding Retainer (1) » Install

Note

When reinstalling water deflector ensure integral locators are installed properly and that water deflector is secured and leakproof.

15. Route front side door inside handle cable through hole in deflector (1).

16. Front Side Door Water Deflector (1) » Install

17. Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket (2) » Install

18. Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

19. Front Side Door Trim » Install — Front Side Door Trim Removal and Installation

20. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
