DTC Descriptor DTC C1136 Calculated Rear Differential Oil Temperature Too High DTC C1137 Calculated Rear Differential Clutch Temperature Too High Circuit/System Description Oil and clutch Temperature are calculated based on inputs to the K164 Differential Control Module. Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition ON. System voltage is 9–16V Conditions for Setting the DTC C1136 Calculated temperature is greater than 180 degrees Celsius. C1137 Calculated temperature is greater than 220 degrees Celsius. Action Taken When the DTC Sets System is disabled — clutch open SERVICE REAR AXLE message is displayed in the Driver Information Center Conditions for Clearing the DTC A current DTC clears on the key cycle after the malfunction is no longer present. A history DTC clears when the device ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold of 50, without a repeat of the malfunction. Diagnostic Aids Verify proper tire size and inflation. Difference in circumference of tires can cause DTCs to set.   1. Verify there are no other DTCs set in the K47 Differential Control Module. ⇒ If other DTCs are present Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If no other DTCs are set
  2. Verify DTC C1136 or C1137 is not set. ⇒ If any of the DTCs are set 2.1. Ignition OFF 2.2. Allow 30 minutes for the clutch to cool completely. 2.3. Perform key cycle, ignition OFF then ON. 2.4. Clear DTCs. Test drive vehicle and verify DTCs do not reset. ⇒ If the DTC sets Replace the K164 Differential Control Module ⇓ If the DTC does not set 2.5. All OK. ⇓ If none of the DTCs are set
