Circuit/System Description The accessory DC/AC power inverter module receives fuse protected battery voltage and is connected to the 12 V electrical system ground. The accessory power receptacle – 110 V AC has an internal switch, that detects when an AC powered device is plugged into the outlet. When the ignition is ON, and an AC powered device is plugged into the accessory power receptacle – 110 V AC, the normally open switch in the accessory power receptacle – 110 V AC, closes. When the accessory DC/AC power inverter module detects the voltage from the accessory power receptacle – 110 V AC switch, the inverter module begins to supply 110 V AC to the accessory power receptacle – 110 V AC after a 1.5 s delay. The accessory AC power system is protected against circuit overload and circuit shorts to ground. Diagnostic Aids Enable switch must be activated (if equipped) for system to operate.   1. Ignition OFF. Unplug all devices from 110V outlets.
  2. Ignition ON. Enable switch activated (if equipped).
  3. Verify there are no related DTCs in the K9 Body Control Module. ⇒ If DTCs are set Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If no DTCs are set
  4. Verify green LED turns on when plugging a device into the front and rear outlet. ⇒ If neither indicator turns on Refer to: Inverter Malfunction ⇒ If the front indicator does not turn on Refer to: Front Outlet Malfunction ⇒ If the rear indicator does not turn on Refer to: Rear Outlet Malfunction ⇓ If both indicators turn on
  5. A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition. Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition OFF. Disconnect the KR202 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module Relay.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 86 and B+. ⇒ If test lamp does not illuminate Repair the open/high resistance in circuit 250 or ground connection. ⇓ If test lamp illuminates
  3. Ignition ON.
  4. Verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 30 and ground. ⇒ If test lamp does not illuminate Replace the X50A Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block. ⇓ If test lamp illuminates
  5. Ignition OFF. Reconnect KR202 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module Relay.
  6. Verify fuse F19UA is not open. ⇒ If fuse is open 6.1. Test circuit 4629 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 6.2. Replace the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. ⇓ If fuse is not open
  7. Disconnect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module.
  8. Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 2 and B+. ⇒ If test lamp does not illuminate Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1450 or ground connection. ⇓ If test lamp illuminates
  9. Disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. Ignition ON.
  10. Test for battery voltage between ignition circuit terminal 3 and ground. ⇒ If battery voltage is not present and fuse is OK 10.1. Test circuit 1139 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found, refer to: Retained Accessory Power Malfunction. ⇓ If battery voltage is not present and fuse is open 10.1. Test circuit 1139 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 10.2. Replace the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. ⇓ If battery voltage is present
  11. Install a fused jumper wire between control circuit terminal 4 and B+
  12. Verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 1 X1 and ground. ⇒ If test lamp does not illuminate 12.1. Test circuit 4629 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 12.2. Test circuit 4628 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 12.3. Test circuit 4628 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 12.4. Replace the KR202 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module Relay. ⇓ If test lamp illuminates
  13. Replace the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. Front Outlet Malfunction
  1. Ignition OFF. Disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module.
  2. Plug a 110V device into the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC.
  3. Test for less than 2 Ω between control circuit terminal 2 and control circuit terminal 5. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω 3.1. Test the following circuits for an open/high resistance: Circuit 4049 Circuit 6807 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 3.2. Replace the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  4. Test for infinite resistance between control circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance 4.1. Test the following circuits for a short to ground: Circuit 4049 Circuit 6807 ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  5. Test for less than 1 V between control circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 1 V 5.1. Test the following circuits for a short to voltage: Circuit 4049 Circuit 6807 ⇒ If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to voltage is not found. 5.2. Replace the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  6. Disconnect the connector at the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC.
  7. Test for less than 10 Ω between ground circuit terminal 7 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 10 Ω Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1250 or ground connection. ⇓ If less than 10 Ω
  8. Test for less than 2 Ω between the following test points: X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 1 & the other end of the circuit. X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 5 & the other end of the circuit. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω Repair the open/high resistance on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  9. Test for less than 1 V between the following terminals and ground: X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 1 X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 5 ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  10. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals and ground: X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 1 X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC circuit terminal 5 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  11. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals: T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 1 T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 8 T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 9 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the fault on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  12. Replace the X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC.
  13. Verify X81AC Accessory Power Receptacle — Floor Console 110V AC is operating properly. ⇒ If not operating properly Replace the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. ⇓ If operating properly
  14. All OK. Rear Outlet Malfunction
  1. Ignition OFF. Disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module.
  2. Plug a 110V device into the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC.
  3. Test for less than 2 Ω between control circuit terminal 2 and control circuit terminal 12. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω 3.1. Test the following circuits for an open/high resistance: Circuit 4049 Circuit 2266 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 3.2. Replace the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  4. Test for infinite resistance between control circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance 4.1. Test the following circuits for a short to ground: Circuit 4049 Circuit 2266 ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  5. Test for less than 1 V between control circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 1 V 5.1. Test the following circuits for a short to voltage: Circuit 4049 Circuit 2266 ⇒ If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to voltage is not found. 5.2. Replace the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  6. Disconnect the connector at the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC.
  7. Test for less than 10 Ω between ground circuit terminal 7 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 10 Ω Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1450 or ground connection. ⇓ If less than 10 Ω
  8. Test for less than 2 Ω between the following test points: X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 1 & the other end of the circuit. X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 5& the other end of the circuit. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω Repair the open/high resistance on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  9. Test for less than 1 V between the following terminals and ground: X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 1 X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 5 ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  10. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals and ground: X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 1 X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC circuit terminal 5 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  11. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals: T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 7 T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 13 T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module circuit terminal 14 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the fault on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  12. Replace the X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC.
  13. Verify X81RA Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Accessory Power Receptacle — 110V AC is operating properly. ⇒ If not operating properly Replace the T1 Accessory AC/DC Power Control Module. ⇓ If operating properly
  14. All OK. Cargo Bed Outlet Malfunction
  1. Ignition OFF disconnect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
  2. Test for less than 10 Ω between ground circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If 10 Ω or greater Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or ground connection. ⇓ If less than 10 Ω
  3. Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
  4. Verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found, verify there is voltage at the fuse. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
  5. Connect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module, and disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
  6. Ignition ON.
  7. Test for less than 1 V between signal circuit terminal 12 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on circuit 2266. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  8. Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 12 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on circuit 2266. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  9. Test for less than 1 V between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 7 AC Circuit Terminal 14 ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 1 V
  10. Ignition OFF.
  11. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 7 AC Circuit Terminal 14 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
  12. Disconnect the connector at the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC.
  13. Test for less than 2 Ω between the following test points: Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC Circuit Terminal 1 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 7 Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC Circuit Terminal 5 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 14 ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω Repair the open/high resistance in the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  14. Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
  15. Verify a test lamp illuminates between control circuit terminal 3 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 15.1. Test circuit 4049 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 15.2. Test circuit 4049 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found.
  16. Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
  17. Ignition OFF, connect the connector at the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC. Connect a 110V extension cord without a connected device to the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC.
  18. Ignition ON.
  19. Test for less than 2 Ω between T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module control circuit terminal 2 and signal circuit terminal 12. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω 19.1. Test the following circuits for an open/high resistance: Circuit 4049 Circuit 2266 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 19.2. Replace the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 110V AC. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
  20. Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
