Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (with UV6) Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

2. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

20. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Remove
21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

25. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove
27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

52. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

67. Pull the windshield defroster outlet duct (1) towards the rear of the car while moving up and to the right to disconnect the left side window defogger outlet duct, to remove the duct.

69. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
70. Maneuver the head- up display (1) out from behind the instrument panel carrier.

3. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Left Side (1) » Install

4. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

5. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (2) » Install

6. Head-Up Display Bracket (2) » Install

7. Connect and return the wiring harness to its original routing.

8. Head-Up Display Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

9. Maneuver the head- up display (1) back behind the instrument panel carrier.

10. Connect the electrical connectors.

11. Head-Up Display Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

12. Install the windshield defroster outlet (1) duct while connecting the left side window defogger outlet duct.

13. Connect the electrical connector.

14. Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) » Install

15. Secure the retaining tabs.

16. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

17. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Install the wiring harness retainers onto the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

19. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

20. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

21. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

22. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

23. Connect the electrical connector.

24. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

25. Connect the electrical connector.

26. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

27. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

28. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

29. Connect the electrical connectors.

30. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

31. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

32. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

33. Connect the electrical connector.

34. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

35. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

36. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

37. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

38. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

39. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

40. Connect the electrical connector.

41. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

42. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

43. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

44. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

45. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

46. Connect the electrical connector.

47. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

48. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

49. Connect the electrical connector.

50. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

51. Connect the electrical connector.

52. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

53. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

54. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

55. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

56. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

58. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

59. Connect the electrical connectors.

60. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

61. Connect the electrical connectors.

62. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

63. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications
