Noise at the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear. With the intermediate shaft disconnected, use a wrench to rotate the steering gear input shaft from the left of center to the right of center. If the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear is worn or damaged, replace the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear.
