- Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

- Unclip and reposition the chassis wiring harness bracket (1) away from the frame shock tower.

- Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Remove [3x]
- Support the front lower control arm with a suitable jack stand.

- Front Brake Hose Bracket Bolt (1) » Remove

- { If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @ Front Brake Caliper » Remove

- { If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor Retainer (2) » Remove
- { If equipped } Position the front disc brake pad wear sensor wiring harness (1) out of the way.

- Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (4) » Remove
- Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) » Remove
- Front Wheel Speed Sensor (3) » Remove
- Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket (2) » Remove

- Front Wheel Speed Sensor Wiring Harness (1) @ Wiring Harness Bracket » Remove

- Front Upper Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) » Loosen

- Using the CH-42188–B Ball Joint Separator(1) , separate the left front upper control arm (2) from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the CH-42188–B Ball Joint Separator(1) from the left front upper control arm (2) and the steering knuckle.

- Front Upper Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) » Remove

- Front Stabilizer Shaft Link Nut (1) » Remove

- Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
- Remove the jack stand from under the front suspension lower control arm.

- Front Shock Absorber (1) » Remove Disassembly Procedure

- Place the front shock absorber (3) into the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1) securing the two lower compressor arms to the front coil spring lower coils.
- Adjust the CH-48845-10 Strut Spring Compressor Bridge Adapter (2) so that the opening of the adapter sufficiently captures the front shock absorber mount.
- Install and secure the CH-48845-10 Strut Spring Compressor Bridge Adapter (2) to the two upper compressor arms of the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1).
- Adjusting the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1), remove any clearance between the CH- 48845-10 Strut Spring Compressor Bridge Adapter (2) and the front shock absorber mount ensuring that it is properly positioned as shown.
- Using the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1), compress the front coil spring enough to remove tension from the front shock absorber mount.

- Front Suspension Strut Nut (3) » Remove using CH-50732-A Strut Rod Nut Socket (1) and a suitable wrench to hold the shock absorber rod (2).

- Front Shock Absorber (2) » Remove
- Front Coil Spring Insulator (1) » Remove

- Using the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1), release tension on the front coil spring (2).
- Remove the front coil spring (2) and remaining components from the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1).

Front Shock Absorber Mount (1) » Remove

Front Suspension Strut Bumper (2) » Remove

Front Shock Absorber Boot (3) » Remove

Inspect the components and replace as necessary. Assembly Procedure

Front Shock Absorber Boot (3) » Install
-
Front Suspension Strut Bumper (2) » Install
-
Front Shock Absorber Mount (1) » Install
-
Install the front coil spring (2) and the associated components to the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1).

Using the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1), apply tension on the front coil spring (2).

Front Coil Spring Insulator (1) » Install
-
Front Shock Absorber (2) » Install
-
Adjust the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor as necessary so enough of the threaded portion of the front shock absorber rod is exposed.

Using CH-50732-A Strut Rod Nut Socket (1) and a suitable wrench to hold the shock absorber rod (2)» Install and tighten » Front Suspension Strut Nut (3) — Fastener Specifications

Using the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1), release all tension on the front coil spring and the front shock absorber mount.

Remove the front shock absorber (3) from the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (1). Installation Procedure

Apply anti-corrosion wax to the frame shock tower. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair

Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Front Stabilizer Shaft Link Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Front Upper Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications
-
Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications
-
Reposition and install the chassis wiring harness bracket (1) to the frame shock tower.

Front Wheel Speed Sensor Wiring Harness (1) @ Wiring Harness Bracket » Install

Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket (2) » Install
-
Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Front Wheel Speed Sensor (3) » Install
-
Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (4) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

{ If equipped } Position the front disc brake pad wear sensor wiring harness (1) into place.

{ If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor Retainer (2) » Install
