Component Description
B5 Wheel Speed Sensor The sensor contains a hall-effect sensor and additional electronics that processes the signal. It detects the change of strength of the magnetic field caused by the reluctor ring. When the strength changes, the sensor changes the amount of current it consumes. This results in a square wave signal of current and voltage. The control module detects the frequency in which the signal changes, which is proportional to the rotational speed.
K160 Brake System Control Module The control module K160 uses the input signal from the sensor B5 to determine the wheel speed.

Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition On The vehicle speed is greater than 15 km/h (10 MPH). Conditions for Setting the DTC Wheel Speed Sensor = Erratic Incorrect installation of a component: B5 Wheel Speed Sensor Electromagnetic Interference Actions Taken When the DTC Sets No additional actions taken Conditions for Clearing the DTC The conditions for setting the DTC no longer exist. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles. Diagnostic Aids Inspect the component for wear or damage: B5 Wheel Speed Sensor .
