- Raise the vehicle until the tires are off the ground. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Using the scan tool, deflate the air spring that will be serviced.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

- { If equipped } Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt - Right Side (1) » Remove

- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt - Right Side (1) » Remove [3x]

- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt - Right Side (1) » Remove [3x]
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer - Right Side (2) » Remove

- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt - Right Side (1) » Remove [3x]

- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt - Right Side (1) » Remove [3x]

- Front Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side (1) » Remove

- Disconnect the right front shock absorber electrical connector (1).
- Disconnect the right air line nut (2).

- Release the 3 air line retainers (1) from the chassis wiring harness front bracket.

- Remove the chassis wiring harness front bracket rear bolt (1).
- Remove the chassis wiring harness front bracket retainer (2).
- Remove the chassis wiring harness front bracket front bolt (3).
- Unclip and reposition the chassis wiring harness front bracket (4) and wiring harnesses away from the shock tower.

- Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Remove [3x]

- Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

- Front Shock Absorber (1) » Remove Disassembly Procedure

- Place the split collar (1) of the CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters onto the front shock absorber contacting the bottom of the retaining ring (2).

- Install the holder (2) of the CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters around the split collars, hand tightening the bolts (1).

- Install and secure the front shock absorber (1) with CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters into the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (2) ensuring that it is properly positioned as shown.

- Remove the electrical terminals from the electronic suspension position sensor electrical connector (1).

- Using a small screwdriver (1) depress the valve (2) to relieve any remaining pressure in the air spring.

- Remove the front suspension upper mounting cap (1).

- Remove the front shock absorber shock rod mount nut (1) using CH-50732-A Strut Rod Nut Socket (2) and a suitable wrench to hold the shock rod.
- Remove the front shock absorber from the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor.

- Remove the front air spring (1) from the front shock absorber.

- Remove and DISCARD the upper front shock absorber spacer (1).
- Remove and DISCARD the front air spring seal (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the lower front shock absorber spacer (3).
- Remove and DISCARD the front shock absorber upper insulator (4).

- Remove and DISCARD the front shock absorber seal (1).
- Remove and DISCARD the front suspension strut washer (2).

Remove the jounce plate assembly (1).

Remove the front lower spring seat (2).

Front Shock Absorber Seal (3) » Remove and DISCARD [2x]

Inspect the components and replace as necessary. Assembly Procedure

Front Shock Absorber Seal (3) » Install NEW [2x]
-
Install the front lower spring seat (2).
-
Install the jounce plate assembly (1).
- Install the NEW front suspension strut washer (2).
- Place electrical tape around the threads of the front air shock to prevent damage to the seal in the front air spring.
- Install the NEW front shock absorber seal (1).
- Install the NEW front shock absorber upper insulator (4).
- Install the NEW lower front shock absorber spacer (3).
- Install the NEW front air spring seal (2).
- Install the NEW upper front shock absorber spacer (1).
- Remove electrical tape from front air shock threads.
- Install the front air spring (1) to the front air shock.

- Identify the stud (2) in relationship to the airline valve (1).

- Ensure the identified stud (1) is aligned to the Shock absorber bushing barrel (2).

Install and secure the front shock absorber (1) with CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters into the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor (2) ensuring that it is properly positioned as shown.

Install and tighten the front shock absorber shock rod mount nut (1) using CH-50732-A Strut Rod Nut Socket (2) and a suitable wrench to hold the shock rod. Fastener Specifications

Install the front suspension upper mounting cap (1).

Install the electrical terminal to the electronic suspension position sensor electrical connector (1).

Using CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator, adjust the regulator to 4 bar (60 psi) and fill the front air spring.

Remove CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator.

Remove the front shock absorber from the CH-48845 Strut Spring Compressor.
-
Loosen the bolts (1) and remove the holder (2) of the CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters.

Remove the split collar (1) of the CH-45400-100 Strut Compressor Adapters from the front shock absorber from under the retaining ring (2). Installation Procedure
- Apply anti-corrosion wax to the frame shock tower. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
- Support the front shock absorber using a suitable jack stand.

Reposition the air line, then install and tighten the air line nut (1). Fastener Specifications

Remove the front shock absorber support.

Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Reposition and install the chassis wiring harness front bracket (4) and wiring harnesses to the shock tower.
-
Install and tighten the chassis wiring harness front bracket front bolt (3). Fastener Specifications
-
Install the chassis wiring harness front bracket retainer (2).
-
Install and tighten the chassis wiring harness front bracket rear bolt (1). Fastener Specifications
-
Install the 3 air line retainers (1) to the chassis wiring harness front bracket.

- Connect the right front shock absorber electrical connector (1).

- { If equipped } Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt - Right Side (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

- Remove the automatic level control air supply reservoir air valve cap (1).
- Install CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator to the automatic level control air supply reservoir air valve (2) and set the regulator on the nitrogen tank to 16 Bar (232 PSI).
- Using CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator, open the valve on the pressure gage to fill the automatic level control air supply reservoir.
- Using CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator and the shop nitrogen tank, fill the automatic level control air supply reservoir to 16 Bar (232 PSI).
- Close the pressure gauge valve and remove CH-52667 Air Spring Inflator from the automatic level control air supply reservoir.
- Install the automatic level control air supply reservoir air valve cap (1) and tighten. Fastener Specifications.
- Partially lower the vehicle, but DO NOT let the wheels touch the ground.
- Using GDS2 tool, use short-term inflate to increase pressure to the air springs: Front: 6 Bar (87 PSI) Rear: 5 Bar (73 PSI)
- Using GDS2, verify automatic level control air supply tank pressure is at 16 Bar (232 PSI), if not repeat steps 22 - 27.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- With the vehicle off the hoist and on flat level ground, use the scan tool to reset trim heights. Trim Height Inspection
