Transmission Vent Hose Clip Bracket Replacement (L84, L87, 4WD without F47)

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  1. Transfer Case Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Remove [3x]
  2. Transfer Case Skid Shield (2) » Remove

  1. If equipped, remove the wiring harness (2) from the 3 wiring harness retainers (1) and reposition the wiring harness as necessary.
  2. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.

  1. Transmission Mount Nut (1) » Remove [2x]
  2. Transmission Support Crossmember Nut (2) » Remove [4x]
  3. Transmission Support Crossmember Bolt (3) » Remove [4x]

  1. Transmission Support Crossmember (1) » Remove
  2. Lower the transmission enough to gain access to the transmission vent hose clip bracket.

  1. Remove the engine wiring harness retainer (1) and reposition the engine wiring harness (2) as necessary.

  1. Remove the transfer case vent hose retainer (1).
  2. Transfer Case Vent Hose (2) » Remove

  1. Remove the transmission vent hose retainer (1) then reposition the transmission vent hose (2) as necessary.

  1. Remove the transmission vent hose clip bracket nut (1).

  2. Remove the transmission vent hose clip bracket (2). Installation Procedure

  3. Install the transmission vent hose clip bracket (2).

  1. Install and tighten the transmission vent hose clip bracket nut (1). Fastener Specifications

  2. Reposition the transmission vent hose (2) then install the transmission vent hose retainer (1).

  3. Position the transfer case vent hose (2) then install the transfer case vent hose retainer (1).

  4. Reposition the engine wiring harness (2) then install the engine wiring harness retainer (1).

  5. Raise the transmission into place.

  6. Transmission Support Crossmember (1) » Install

  7. Transmission Support Crossmember Bolt (3) » Install [4x]

  8. Transmission Support Crossmember Nut (2) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

  9. Transmission Mount Nut (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  10. If equipped, position the wiring harness (2) as necessary then install the harness into the 3 wiring harness retainers (1).

  11. Remove the transmission jack.

  12. Transfer Case Skid Shield (2) » Install

  13. Transfer Case Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

  14. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
