1. Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (2) » Remove — Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement

2. Control Valve Upper Body Bolt (1) » Remove
3. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe (2) » Remove
4. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe Seal (3) » Remove and DISCARD
5. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Seal (4) » Remove and DISCARD

6. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Bolt (1) » Remove [3x]
7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Note

The control valve solenoid body bolts are marked by arrows in the valve body casting.

9. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
10. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (2) » Remove and DISCARD [3x]
11. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (3) » Remove [2x]

12. Disconnect the park inhibitor solenoid electrical connector (1).
13. Park Inhibitor Solenoid (2) » Remove
14. Unlock the main control wiring harness connector latch (3).
15. Disconnect the transmission wiring harness (4).

Note

Do not disassemble the control valve body assembly. The internal parts are NOT serviceable.

18. Disconnect the automatic transmission turbine speed sensor electrical connector.

19. Automatic Transmission Turbine Speed Sensor Bolt (1) » Remove

20. Automatic Transmission Turbine Speed Sensor (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

21. Automatic Transmission Turbine Speed Sensor (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution

3. Connect the automatic transmission turbine speed sensor electrical connector.

Caution

The Park Pawl Actuator Lever must be in the park position, fully forward position, and aligned with the slot in the piston servo prior to lowering the Control Valve Assembly into place. Contact between the switch housing or magnet carrier and the end of the Park Pawl Actuator Lever during installation can damage these components and lead to failure. This damage may not be immediately apparent and may occur during subsequent vehicle operation.

Note

Ensure the automatic transmission fluid pump seal is in the control valve body. The piston servo opening (2) must be positioned correctly as shown. Use appropriate tool to position opening if necessary.

5. Place the park pawl actuator (1) in the park position.
6. Carefully place the control valve body assembly (3) in the transmission ensuring park pawl actuator lever (1) aligns inside the piston servo opening (2).
7. Control Valve Body Assembly (3) » Install

Note

Ensure the wiring harness is not pinched after valve body installation.

8. Connect the main control wiring harness connector (4) then lock the connector latch (5).
9. Park Inhibitor Solenoid (6) » Install
10. Connect the Park Inhibitor Solenoid connector (7).

Note

Allow bolt holes to dry before installing bolts.

11. Clean the bolt holes and ensure they are free from old sealant.
12. Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (1) » Install and tighten in sequence [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Caution

Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution.

15. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump (1) » Install
16. Connect the electrical connector.
17. Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications
