Spot Lamp Replacement

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced. Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

2. Handle Key Bolt (1) » Remove

4. Spot Lamp Bracket Set Screw (1) » Remove

5. Spot Lamp (1) » Remove

6. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.
7. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
8. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1).
9. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Remove
10. Windshield Garnish Molding (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Warning

12. Spot Lamp Bracket Rivet (1) » Remove and DISCARD [3x]

13. Spot Lamp Mounting Bracket (2) » Remove

14. Spot Lamp Mounting Bracket Gasket (3) » Remove Installation Procedure

15. Spot Lamp Mounting Bracket Gasket (3) » Install

16. Spot Lamp Mounting Bracket (2) » Install

17. Spot Lamp Bracket Rivet (1) » Install NEW [3x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Connect the electrical connector.

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

5. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

6. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding (1) into place.

7. Windshield Garnish Molding (1) » Install

8. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

9. Spot Lamp (1) » Install

10. Spot Lamp Bracket Set Screw (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

11. Spot Lamp Handle (1) » Install

12. Handle Key Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

13. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling

14. Inspect the spot lamp for proper operation. 14.1. The handle must rotate the spotlamp approximately 90 degrees about the spot lamp shaft axis from the parked position to the vertical position. 14.2. The spot lamp head must rotate 360 degrees about its axis. 14.3. The spot lamp must able to be turned ON/OFF independent of the ignition switch.
