Emission Reduction Fluid Pump Priming

  1. Ignition On, verify that no other reductant system DTCs are set. If any other DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle.
  2. Verify that the scan tool Reductant Tank Level status parameter displays Full or OK. If it does not display Full or Ok, add 4 liters (1.1 gal) reductant fluid and verify the parameter displays Full or OK.
  3. Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
  4. Disconnect the emission reduction fluid exhaust front pipe injector supply pipe at the reductant fluid injector and direct into a suitable container. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  5. Commanded the Reductant System Leak Test On with a scan tool.
  6. Observe fluid being pumped out of the Reductant Tank.
  7. Connect the emission reduction fluid exhaust front pipe injector supply pipe at the reductant fluid injector. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  8. Commanded the Reductant System Leak Test On with a scan tool.
  9. With Ignition ON, engine OFF, verify that “Reductant Pressure” reaches approximately 500 kPa. Verify DTC does not set.
  10. Move vehicle outside, perform Reductant System Malfunction Warning Service Bay Test.
  11. Verify test passes and warning message on Driver Information Center disappears.
  12. If test does not pass, shut off engine and allow engine control module to completely go to sleep 10  minutes, then repeat the Reductant System Malfunction Warning Service Bay Test.
