Tire Valve Stem Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  3. Dismount the tire from the wheel. Tire Dismounting and Mounting
  4. Protect the area where the valve stem removal tool may contact the rim.
  1. Remove and DISCARD the valve stem by pulling it through the rim using a valve stem removal tool.
  2. Clean all sealing surfaces. Installation Procedure
  3. Apply lubricant to the NEW valve stem. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  1. Using a tire valve stem installation tool (2), pull the valve stem (1) through in a direction parallel to the valve hole on the wheel.
  2. Inspect the valve stem to ensure that it is fully seated on the rim as follows: The rim hole edge has to be completely in the notch of the valve stem. The valve and the rim hole have to be concentric.
  3. Mount the tire to the wheel. Tire Dismounting and Mounting
  4. Inflate the tire to the specified pressure as stated on the tire placard.
  5. Install the NEW dust cap.

  7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
