  2. Front Bumper Fascia Extension Bolt @ Skid Shield (3) » Remove [2x]

  4. If equipped, release the wire harness retainer.

  1. Install the DT-45859 Axle Remover (2) to the front wheel hub and secure with 2 wheel nuts (1) hand tightened.
  2. Using the DT-45859 Axle Remover (2), release the front wheel drive half shaft from the front wheel hub.
  3. Remove the 2 wheel nuts (1) and the DT-45859 Axle Remover (2) from the front wheel hub.

  2. Using the DT-45859 Axle Remover (2), release the front wheel drive half shaft from the front wheel hub.
  3. Remove the 2 wheel nuts (1) and the DT-45859 Axle Remover (2) from the front wheel hub.

  1. Install and tighten the transmission fluid cooler pipe connector bolt (3). Fastener Specifications
  1. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Clip (1) » Close [2x]

  2. Install and tighten the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler pipe bracket nut (1). Fastener Specifications

  1. Front Axle (1) » Install

  2. Front Axle Vent Hose » Connect

  3. Front Differential Carrier Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  4. Front Differential Carrier Bolt (2) » Install

  5. Front Differential Carrier Bracket Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  6. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember (1) » Install

  7. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Reinforcement Bolt (2) » Install [4x]

  8. Using the EN-45059-A Angle Meter, install and tighten the 4 drivetrain and front suspension frame reinforcement nuts (1). Fastener Specifications

  1. Front Differential Carrier Bolt (2) » Install NEW
  2. Front Differential Carrier Nut (1) » Install
  3. Using the EN-45059-A Angle Meter, tighten the front differential carrier nut (1). Fastener Specifications
  1. Install the heater coolant pump and heater water auxiliary pump bracket (2) as assembly.

  2. Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  3. Electrical Connector @ Heater Coolant Pump (2) » Connect

  4. Connect the front drive axle actuator electrical connector (1).

  5. Reposition the harness and secure the two harness retainers (2).

  6. Clean the residue from the threaded holes of the front differential drive pinion gear yoke with denatured alcohol and allow to dry.

  7. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps: 24.1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth. 24.2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. 24.3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 24.4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.

  8. Front Axle Propeller Shaft (1) » Reposition

  9. Align the reference marks made between the front axle propeller shaft (1) and the front differential drive pinion gear yoke.

  10. Front Axle Propeller Shaft Washer (3) » Install [3x]

  11. Install the 6 front axle propeller shaft bolts (2) and tighten in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications

  1. Apply anti-corrosion wax to the frame shock tower. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair
  2. Front Shock Absorber (1) » Install
  3. {If Equipped} Connect the electrical connector at the shock absorber.
  1. Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  2. Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

  3. Front Wheelhouse Liner - Left Side » Install — Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement

  1. Remove any buildup from the front differential carrier output shaft lead in chamfer (1) using an abrasive pad and wipe clean with a shop cloth.

  2. Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal (2) » Install NEW

  3. Front Wheel Drive Shaft Retaining Ring (1) » Install NEW

  4. Apply a thin coating of grease to the splines of the front wheel drive half shaft and front differential carrier output shaft. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  1. Install the front wheel drive half shaft (1) into the wheel hub.

  2. Install the front wheel drive half shaft (1) into the front axle.

  3. Ensure that the left front wheel drive half shaft (1) is fully seated in front differential carrier by pulling on the inner joint.

  4. Support the steering knuckle with a suitable jack stand.

  5. Front Upper Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  6. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  7. Install the front wheel speed sensor wiring harness bracket (2).

  8. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  9. Front Wheel Speed Sensor (2) » Install

  10. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  11. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket (4) » Install

  12. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (3) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  13. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps: 51.1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth. 51.2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. 51.3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 51.4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.

  14. Front Brake Caliper (1) » Install

  15. Front Brake Caliper Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  16. Front Brake Hose Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  1. Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @ Front Brake Caliper » Install

  3. Ensure that the right front wheel drive half shaft (1) is fully seated in front differential carrier by pulling on the inner joint.

  4. Support the steering knuckle with a suitable jack stand.

  7. Install the front wheel speed sensor wiring harness bracket (2).

  9. Front Wheel Speed Sensor (2) » Install

  10. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  11. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket (4) » Install

  12. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (3) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  13. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps: 72.1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth. 72.2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. 72.3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 72.4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.

  16. Front Brake Hose Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  17. Have an assistant apply the brakes.

  2. Inspect the gear lubricant level, it should be 16–22 mm (0.6-0.9 in) below the plug opening.

  2. Front Stabilizer Shaft Clamp (2) » Install [2x]

  11. Front Bumper Fascia Extension (4) » Install

  12. If equipped, install the wire harness retainer.

  13. Front Bumper Fascia Extension Bolt @ Skid Shield (3) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  14. Front Bumper Fascia Extension Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

  15. Front Bumper Fascia Extension (1) » Install

  18. Lower the vehicle.
