Engine Control Module Replacement Removal Procedure

  1. Before removing the engine control module (ECM), record the oil life percentage remaining.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

  1. { If equipped } Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) » Remove

  2. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) » Remove

  1. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors (1) from the engine control module.

  1. Use a suitable tool to pry back the locking tabs (1) securing the engine control module to the control module bracket.

  2. Engine Control Module (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

  3. Engine Control Module (2) » Install

  4. Connect the 2 electrical connectors (1) to the engine control module.

  5. Front Wheelhouse Liner (1) » Install

  6. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) » Install

  7. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

  8. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

  9. { If equipped } Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  10. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

  12. It is necessary to reprogram the module. Control Module References

  13. It is necessary to perform the turbocharger/supercharger boost control initial position learn. Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Initial Position Learn

  14. Use the scan tool to reset the engine oil life remaining back to the original percentage recorded.
