Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (without UV6) Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Remove
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

25. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

67. Pull the windshield defroster outlet duct (1) towards the rear of the car while moving up and to the right to disconnect the left side window defogger outlet duct, to remove the duct.

3. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Left Side (1) » Install

4. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

5. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (2) » Install

6. Install the windshield defroster outlet (1) duct while connecting the left side window defogger outlet duct.

7. Connect the electrical connector.

8. Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) » Install

9. Secure the retaining tabs.

10. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

11. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

12. Install the wiring harness retainers onto the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

13. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

14. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

15. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

16. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

17. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

18. Connect the electrical connector.

19. Connect the electrical connector.

20. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

21. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

22. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

23. Connect the electrical connectors.

24. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

25. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

26. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

27. Connect the electrical connector.

28. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

29. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

30. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

31. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

32. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

33. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

34. Connect the electrical connector.

35. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

36. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

37. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

38. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

39. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

40. Connect the electrical connector.

41. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

42. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

43. Connect the electrical connector.

44. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

45. Connect the electrical connector.

46. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

47. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

48. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

49. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

50. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

52. Connect the electrical connectors.

53. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

54. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

55. Connect the electrical connectors.
