Circuit/System Description The S126 Ride Control Switch is a normally open switch that closes when the switch is pressed. The K9 Body Control Module monitors the switch on signal circuit 2203. The S126 Ride Control Switch uses circuit 1449 for a low reference. When the drive mode select switch is not pressed, the switch is open and signal voltage observed by the K9 Body Control Module is high. When the drive mode select switch is pressed, the switch is closed and signal voltage observed by the K9 Body Control Module is low. Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition ON Conditions for Setting the DTC Circuit 2203 is shorted to ground Circuit 2203 is open Action Taken When the DTC Sets No action is taken. Conditions for Clearing the DTC The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. Diagnostic Aids Holding the Drive Mode Select Switch for an extend period of time may cause a DTC to set. - Ignition/vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S126 Ride Control Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the low reference terminal 3 and B+. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 2.1. Test circuit 1449 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 2.2. Replace the K9 Body Control Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
- Ignition/vehicle OFF, disconnect the X2 connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 10 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance 4.1. Test circuit 2203 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the S126 Ride Control Switch. ⇓ If infinite resistance
- Connect the connector at the S126 Ride Control Switch.
- Press and hold the S126 Ride Control Switch.
- Test for less than infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 2203 and ground. ⇒ If infinite resistance 7.1. Disconnect the connector at the S126 Ride Control Switch. 7.2. Test the low reference circuit 1449 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 7.3. Test signal circuit 2203 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 7.4. Replace the S126 Ride Control Switch. ⇓ If less than infinite resistance
