  1. Transfer Case Assembly » Remove — Transfer Case Assembly Replacement

  1. Transmission Mount Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
  2. Transmission Mount (2) » Remove

  1. Automatic Transmission Case Extension Bolt (1) » Remove [6x]
  2. Automatic Transmission Case Extension (2) » Remove
  3. Automatic Transmission Case Extension Seal (3) » Remove and DISCARD

  1. Using the DT-45000 Seal Remover  (1), remove and DISCARD the propeller shaft transmission flange fluid seal (2). Installation Procedure

  1. Using the J-38869 Seal Installer  (1), install a NEW propeller shaft transmission flange fluid seal (2).

  2. Automatic Transmission Case Extension Seal (3) » Install NEW

  3. Lubricate the inner diameter of the transmission output shaft seal with NEW transmission fluid prior to installing the automatic transmission case extension. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  4. Automatic Transmission Case Extension (2) » Install

  1. Automatic Transmission Case Extension Bolt (1) » Install and tighten in sequence [6x] — Fastener Specifications

  2. Transmission Mount (2) » Install

  3. Transmission Mount Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  4. Transfer Case Assembly » Install — Transfer Case Assembly Replacement

  5. If necessary, check the transmission fluid level and condition. Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check
