Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode Conditions for Setting the DTC DTC B1597 29, 82 or B1A6A 46, 49, 92, 98 or B1A9E 00 Component Internal Malfunction DTC B1A6A 54, 55 The device is not configured properly. DTC B1597 11, 12, 13 or B1A6A 92 An internal evaluation logic has detected a malfunction of the circuit. DTC B1A6A 76 Incorrect Mounting Detected Actions Taken When the DTC Sets Service Surround Vision Camera message = On Conditions for Clearing the DTC The conditions for setting the DTC no longer exist. Diagnostic Aids The following conditions could cause component performance issues: Right Sideview Camera Ambient Light Intensity — High /Low Camera Blocked — Debris /Ice /Mud /Snow Temperature — High /Low An open in the shield of the video signal circuit can cause a distorted screen. 1. Perform the following visual inspections: Misalignment of the components: B225R Side View Driver Information Camera - Right Visible Damage Dirty ⇒ If a condition exists » Repair or replace as necessary ⇓ If none of the conditions exists
2. Verify DTC B1597 11, 12, 13 is not set. ⇒ If DTC B1597 11, 12, 13 is set Diagnose B1597 11, 12, 13 before attempting to diagnose other surround vision camera DTCs. Refer to: Circuit/System Testing ⇓ If DTC B1597 11, 12, 13 is not set
3. Refer to: Circuit/System Testing Circuit/System Testing Circuit/System Testing DTC B1597 29, 82 or B1A6A 46, 49, 98 or B1A9E 00
4. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
5. Replace the component: B225R Side View Driver Information Camera - Right
6. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC is not set All OK. ⇓ If the DTC sets
7. Replace the component: K157 Video Processing Module Circuit/System Testing DTC B1597 11, 12, 13 or B1A6A 92
8. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off
9. Disconnect the electrical connector: Without TRG= X3 @ K157 Video Processing Module TRG= X7 @ K157 Video Processing Module
10. Wait for greater than 5 s.
11. Connect appropriate EL-52552 pinout tool to K157 Video Processing Module
12. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
13. Test for 7 to 11 V between the test points: Without TRG= Signal circuit terminal 2-BG @ K157 Video Processing Module (module side) & Ground TRG= Signal circuit terminal 2-CU @ K157 Video Processing Module (module side) & Ground ⇒ If not between 7 and 11 V Replace the component: K157 Video Processing Module ⇓ If between 7 and 11 V
14. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off

Note

Before testing the coax cable, check the cable’s exterior for being pinched, cut, damaged, or having loose connections at the components, all of which can cause reception issues.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector: B225R Side View Driver Information Camera - Right
9. Locate the appropriate pinout adapter and load test loop adapter from EL-52552 COAX FAKRA Cable Adaptor Kit.
10. Connect the 2 adapters together, measure and record the resistance between the terminals at the pinout adapter.
11. Disconnect the 2 adapters and connect each one to the appropriate end of the coax cable.
12. At the pinout adapter test terminals, measure the total resistance of the coax cable loop including the connected load test adapter. ⇒ If not within 5 Ω of the reading from step 10. Replace the coax cable ⇓ If within 5 Ω of the reading from step 10.
13. Replace the component: B225R Side View Driver Information Camera - Right
14. Apply the parking brake.
15. Engine Running Transmission in Reverse
16. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set Replace the component: K157 Video Processing Module ⇓ If the DTC is not set
17. All OK. Circuit/System Testing DTC B1A6A 54, 55, 76
18. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
19. Ensure the Surround Vision System is fully calibrated. Refer to: Video Processing Control Module Calibration
20. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC is not set All OK. ⇓ If the DTC sets
21. Operate the vehicle under the following conditions: During the day On a straight road Distance Traveled = Greater than 0.5 km (0.3 mi)
22. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off
23. Wait for greater than 60 s.
24. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
25. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC is not set All OK. ⇓ If the DTC sets
26. Test or replace the component: B225R Side View Driver Information Camera - Right
27. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC is not set All OK. ⇓ If the DTC sets
28. Test or replace the component: K157 Video Processing Module Component Testing

Note

Before testing the coax cable, check the cable’s exterior for being pinched, cut, damaged, or having loose connections at the components, all of which can cause reception issues. To prevent an incorrect reading when testing the center coax terminal, use care not to ground the test probe on the outer housing/shield. Coax Cable Test

1. Test for less than 5 Ω between the test points: Coax Cable Center & The other end of the circuit ⇒ If 5 Ω or greater Test or replace the component: Coax Cable ⇓ If less than 5 Ω
2. Test for greater than 5 Ω between the test points: Coax Cable Outer Shield & The other end of the circuit ⇒ If 5 Ω or greater Test or replace the component: Coax Cable ⇓ If less than 5 Ω
3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Coax Cable Outer Shield & Coax Cable Center ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Test or replace the component: Coax Cable ⇓ If infinite resistance
