  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  1. {with RC1} Remove the underbody skid shield: 3.1. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Remove [2x] 3.2. Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (2) » Remove [2x] 3.3. Underbody Skid Shield (3) » Remove

  1. {without RC1} Remove the underbody skid shield: 4.1. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Remove [4x] 4.2. Underbody Skid Shield (2) » Remove

  1. Starter Heat Shield Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

  1. Starter Heat Shield Bolt (1) » Remove
  2. Starter Heat Shield (2) » Remove

  1. Battery Negative Cable Ground Bolt (1) » Remove
  2. Starter Solenoid Cable (2) » Reposition away

  1. Starter Mounting Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
  2. Reposition the starter (2) to access the electrical connections.

  1. Protective Sleeve (4) » Reposition
  2. Starter Solenoid Cable Nut (2) » Remove
  3. Starter Solenoid Cable (1) » Remove
  4. Electrical Connector (3) » Disconnect

  1. Starter (1) » Remove
  2. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.

  1. Crankshaft Position Sensor Bolt (1) » Remove

  2. Crankshaft Position Sensor (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

  3. Crankshaft Position Sensor (2) » Install

  1. Crankshaft Position Sensor Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  2. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.

  3. Starter (1) » Install

  4. Electrical Connector (3) » Connect

  5. Protective Sleeve (4) » Install

  6. Starter Solenoid Cable (1) » Install

  7. Starter Solenoid Cable Nut (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  8. Starter Mounting Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  9. Starter Solenoid Cable (2) » Install

  10. Battery Negative Cable Ground Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  1. Starter Heat Shield (2) » Install

  2. Starter Heat Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  3. Starter Heat Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  4. {with RC1} Install the underbody skid shield: 15.1. Underbody Skid Shield (3) » Install 15.2. Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications 15.3. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

  5. {without RC1} Install the underbody skid shield: 16.1. Underbody Skid Shield (2) » Install 16.2. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

  8. Perform the crankshaft position variation learn. Crankshaft Position Variation Learn
