Retained Accessory Power
The Retained Accessory Power (RAP) & Interruptible RAP (IRAP) Circuits are controlled by the K9 Body
Control Module (BCM). The BCM is the Power Mode Master, it utilizes various Vehicle inputs to determine the
Vehicle Power Mode and sends this information via Serial Data and providing associated electrical signals to
the entire vehicle for proper feature operation.
The BCM monitors the vehicles power modes, and door ajar/open switch status to determine whether the
retained accessory power should be initiated and remain active or be terminated. The RAP output is optional
based on the vehicles option contents. When utilized, the RAP Output control can be used to control a RAP
Relay, it may provide direct power, or s serial data message to vehicle devices/modules from the BCM.
Retained Accessory Power Relay Coil Control Circuit (If Equipped)
The BCM keeps the device or relay (if equipped) energized during all power modes, except Off-Awake and
Crank. The device(s) remain active for approximately 10 min after the Vehicle is placed into the OFF Power
Mode, provided none of the doors are opened.
Retained accessory power will end when one of the following conditions are met:
The BCM receives an input from any door ajar switch indicating the opening of the door after the OFF
Power Mode is achieved.
